Intel showcases Meteor Lake processor prototype: 16 cores, 22 threads, L3 cache 24M

Intel showcased a prototype of a Meteor Lake-H processor and the VPU part of SoC at this year's Computex 2023 Taipei Computer Show.

It has 1.6 MB of L1 cache, 18 MB of L2 cache, and 24 MB of L3 cache. Due to the early generation Intel 4 technology, the main frequency of the Meteor Lake processor seems to be at a low level, with a base frequency of only 3.1 GHz, while this ES processor even has an idle frequency of only 0.37 GHz.

Intel stated that the chips on the Meteor Lake SoC are three generations ahead of Movidius, but have the same IP (which is why the task manager detects them as Movidius NPUs). In addition, we can also see that the VPU will use approximately 1 GB of shared vRAM memory to complete its work.
