Samsung launches Exynos Auto V920 automotive chip: CPU performance is 1.7 times higher than the previous generation

Samsung said that it will cooperate with Hyundai Motor Company for the first time, and the Exynos Auto V920 chip will be equipped in Hyundai's 2025 model.

Samsung stated that the Exynos Auto V920 chip follows ARM's latest automotive driving chip design, equipped with 10 cores, and has a processing power 1.7 times that of the previous generation.

The Exynos Auto V920 chip also supports LPDDR5 and can handle up to 6 high-resolution screens and up to 12 camera sensors.
The Exynos Auto V920 chip also enhances graphics processing capabilities, and the GPU core has twice the speed of its predecessor; The chip further enhances AI features to meet the intelligent interaction between the driver and information inside the car.
Samsung stated that the functionality of the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) is 2.7 times that of it, which enables the chip to support enhanced driver monitoring functions, such as better and faster evaluation of the environment around the car, thereby improving overall safety.

The Exynos Auto V920 also meets the ASIL-B requirements set by the international automotive safety standard ISO 26262, which detects and manages faults in real-time to ensure the safety of the IVI system.
