Automotive camera PMIC supporting functional safety ASIL BWith the evolution of ADAS from L2+to higher level driving assistance systems, the types and quantity of cameras are gradually increasing, and their functions are also gradually becoming stronger. Therefore, higher requirements have been put forward for the power management chip that supplies power to car mounted cameras, such as small packaging, low power consumption, high efficiency, and meeting the functional safety standards of ISO26262.
In addition to image sensors, ORX1210 is OMNIVISION's latest highly integrated PMIC for automotive cameras. This PMIC is packaged in QFN 4x4 mm2 and has a wide input voltage range of 4.0V to 18V. It consists of a medium voltage DCDC Buck regulator, two low voltage DCDC Buck regulators, and a high PSRR low noise LDO. Among them, LDO has been optimized specifically for the frequency range sensitive to cameras (100K~1MHz), which can better suppress the impact of power noise on image quality.
Flexible power on timing control ensures stable operation of the system. Support for spread spectrum function improves the EMI performance of the system. High power efficiency and good heat dissipation performance support the system to operate normally in higher ambient temperatures. As the first camera power management chip in China to support functional safety ASIL B, it integrates richer functional safety mechanisms and meets ASIL B level requirements for functional safety.
